Borrow My Books

Last year, I read the story of the High School kid who keeps a mini-library of banned books in his/her locker to lend to other kids. I found that story very inspiring. Almost immediately, I wanted to lend my books to other people but I got busy. My daughter started preschool; I got a gig writing full-time from home; + I do all home chores during weekdays.

I don't have a ton of books but I have enough to lend on a rotating schedule. I'm optimistic that people will borrow my books and actually RETURN them. The system will work purely on trust. I believe books are meant to be read and shared. I will keep adding books to the collection.

In the next few weeks, I will be making a list of all the books we have in the house and post the list here. When my schedule permits, I will write book reviews and post them here.

RULES

1.) I only lend books during these days: Tuesdays & Thursdays (2PM- 5 PM).

2.) You need to email me to schedule pick-ups (raz.ambat@gmail.com). You need to pick up the books from my home. You can only borrow 2 books or 3 magazines at a time.

3.) You must return the book in the same condition as when you borrowed it. Please, please, please be careful with the books. Some of them belong to my husband and he will be majorly pissed if his books came back looking like shit.

4.If you misplace a book, you have to give a new book back.

5.) You must return books so that other people will have a chance to read them. Let's keep the cycle going. The only way I can keep lending books is if I have books.

6.) I don't have a ton of books but since Borrow My Books is just starting, I think I have enough. I will add to the collection if there are more readers.

7.) If you feel like donating books, feel free to do so :)
